Tomorrow, millions of Hindus around the world will celebrate Diwali, The Festival of Lights. Diwali means rows of lighted lamps. Diwali commemorates the triumph of good over evil and signifies the return of Rama to his kingdom following 14 years in exile. It is followed on Thursday by the Hindu New Year.
Indian households decorate their courtyards with the traditional Indian art form rangoli and the lighting of earthenware oil lamps, diyas, to invite Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, into their homes for her blessings for a prosperous year.
May these lamps of joy illuminate your life and fill your days with the bright sparkles of peace. May you have all the joy your heart can hold, all the smiles a day can bring, all the blessings of good fortune, wealth, and prosperity a life can unfold. Wishing you happy Diwali 2015.
