Rosh Hodesh Adar 2017

crescent moon

Dear Holy Spirit of All Ancestors,

Let us be renewed by this month of Adar

Just as it is Pisces, the sign of the fish, may we be full of blessing and fruitfulness.

May this moon’s journey direct us in our capacity to change and grow

Its metamorphosis as the universe’s archetype of transformation

The steadiness of her climb from new to full, not clambering to reach her pinnacle, Instead daily, bit by bit, bringing another portion of herself to light.

May this moon’s journey direct us in our capacity to change and grow

Toward goodness and blessing

Toward the joyful

Toward liberation and challenge, as well as

Toward patience and consolation

Toward becoming ever more human beings.

Let us commit to supporting ourselves and each other.

May this moon’s journey direct us in our capacity to change and grow

Toward life and peace

Toward observing our blindness

Toward struggling with our goals

Toward forgiving ourselves and each other.

May this moon’s journey direct us in our capacity to change and grow

As an opportunity

To understand what is intended for us.

Many thank for inviting us to share

This holy moment of the New Moon.

N’vareykh et eyn hachayim Matzmichat p’ri hagefen Unkadeysh

et rosh hachodesh Ba’arigat p’tiley chayeynu L’tokh masechet hadorot.

Let us bless the source of life that ripens fruit on the vine as we hallow

the Rosh Hodesh festival, weaving new threads into the tapestry of tradition.
