THE WAY

Cleaning Piece IV
Write down everything you fear in life.
Burn it.
Pour herbal oil with a sweet scent on the ashes.

It is no easy feat to walk 115KM/70MILES, the minimum requirement to receive a compostela, the certificate of completion of the pilgrimage and be awarded the credencial, the official St.James stamp; but three of us, along with 9 new friends, made the effort and feel the significant benefits of such an exertion.

Pittsburgh-based fiber artist, Louise Silk, creates art that combines aesthetics and functionality with meaning and memories. From the influence of a 1972 MS Magazine article to the current SILKDENIM label, her quilt experiences culminate in a display of her particular capacity to use her patchwork skills to piece together just about anything into an aesthetic meaningful whole.

  1. Ahhh, what good timing, Louise. I’ve been thinking of you, wondering how your journey has been going, and looking forward to your rejoining us on Wednesday mornings. That’s a lovely way to do selfies. I especially like the one of all three of you….very evocative.

Congratulations to you and your friends, and as we say in Spain, mazel tov!
